Just because you live in Silicon Valley now you young whippersnapper. I'll have you know that I saw a hare whilst out cycling in the luvverly English countryside about 2 months ago (yes, that would have been March). I wasn't close enough to see it's top lip mind (which would have looked something like that in my profile picture), but I did witness it's existence for sure.

Liked your game idea as well - oarsome.

I have to admit, I had always thought that particu...

I have to admit, I had always thought that particular affliction was called a Hairlip and upon seeing your spelling of it as hare-lip I immediately ran over to Google to verify which one was correct. Of course, I discovered that you were correct and so came to end my intent to ridicule you for your poor spelling abilities.

Anyway, I'm more interested now in the origin of the term harelip. It seems to me that it could very well be based on the appearance of a 'harelip' being not dissimilar to the appearance of a Hare's top lip, i.e. that there is a separation beneath the nose and in front of the two elongated incisors. But that just makes me wonder - why a Hare? Why wouldn't it have been just as good, if not even better, to have named the condition 'Rabbitlip'. At least people wouldn't ever make the spelling mistake I was guilty of. And it would actually make it easier for people to visualize the appearance of the problem, if indeed that is what the originators of the term were going for in the first place. Who has even seen a real life Hare in this day and age? And if they have, have they seen it long enough to notice the similarities between its top lip and that of a Rabbit's? I swear sometimes that us humans make things infinitely more complicated than they need to be.

Actually, wouldn't any rodent really do in place of a Hare? They all kind of have the same thing going on lip-wise, right? Mouselip? Ratlip? Gerbillip? Chinchillalip? (Too many L's perhaps). Kangaroolip?

I think I might have just invented a new game.
